Websites for posting your own events

http://www.Workit.com or www.Workit.com/techevents - A terrific resource! All event postings are free. Plus events go out in a very nice free weekly email listing with over 5000 subscribers. To post events, go to http://www.workit.com/events/eventform.cfm and create a free account for your organization or contact elise @ workit.com to ask if your organization already has an account. Additional paid advertising is also available.

http://techvenue.com/USValley/ - This site mostly lists computer groups, but all tech events are welcome. Non-profit orgs with attendee costs under $100 post for free. For-profits pay the cost of one attendee. Events with attendee cost over $100 pay $100 to post.

http://bayarea.fullcalendar.com/ec/mkt_promote.cfm - For only $19.95, they advertise your event to many different places, including print media and posting to many locations. They also offer comprehensive a list of resources for do-it-yourself advertising: http://bayarea.fullcalendar.com/ec/list_cal.cfm
